Tariff Concerns
In the event of a no deal 'Brexit', import tariffs of 10% are now very likely to be implemented for new Heavy Commercial Vehicles.
What does this mean?
It means that from the 1st January 2021, import tariffs could be implemented but Mercedes-Benz Trucks and City West understand the concerns surrounding Brexit tariffs and the uncertainty this is causing. We have worked hard to establish innovative ways to mitigate these and would welcome the opportunity to talk to you to see how we can assist you.
If you're looking to purchase now, we have stock at City West available immediately. Our Approved Used truck selection is on site for viewing and being Approved Used you don't have any tariffs to consider either.
But it's not just Brexit to consider, there are other widening roads in the industry to consider like the Direct Vision Standard and low emissions.
Other topics - Direct Vision Standards
The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) and safety permit for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) requires all HGVs over 12t to be granted a permit to enter or operate in Greater London.
Why City West?
With up to four stars under the Direct Vision Standard*, the exceptional visibility of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros and Arocs with MirrorCam increases safety in urban driving, and needs no additional equipment to obtain a 10-year HGV Safety Permit to help futureproof your business.
Sustainable, fully electric and quiet
A new truck from Mercedes-Benz is always a piece of the future. That's because for decades, the brand with the three-pointed star has been a technological leader. The implementation of another ambitious goal – the vision of CO2-neutral transport – is running at full speed. Here, Mercedes-Benz is clearly committed to the Paris Climate Agreement and will switch completely to electrically powered trucks by 2039.
The eActros is kicking things off. The prototype was soon followed by a further-developed model – the first electrically driven heavy-duty truck on the market, which is currently proving itself in practical operations with numerous customers and will go into series production as early as next year.
